Knutsford Tennis Club is a members led organisation, whose key objective is to provide tennis facilities in the Knutsford area to local people of all ages and playing standards. We are part of Knutsford Sports Club, who are CASC registered, and run by our committee of volunteers, who work tirelessly to ensure that tennis is a prominent sport within the town. More about us can be found on our website www.knutsfordtennisclub.org.uk
why a tennisathon?
We did this in 2014 and raised over £10,000 to help resurface the middle courts. These are now complete and in full use! We now want to develop our junior section, so that more young people have access to tennis in the town
what we are trying to achieve...
Our 2018 24 hour Tennisathon event will raise funds to help replace our 2 junior tennis courts. These new courts will then enable us to offer top quality junior programmes for ages 4-18. Local primary and secondary schools will gain the opportunity for regular participation and fun exercise, as we are the only place in the town offering suitable facilities. We have around 500 local youngsters a year taking part in regular junior sessions and camps, and aim to increase this, as well as improving competitive play in local and national leagues. Not only that, but in 2018 we will be offering older adults a pathway to start playing tennis as beginners or to come back to tennis. It’s a great game to play into your 70’s & 80’s, we have members who prove it! But we desperately need these courts. So please take part in the 24 hr Tennisathon by raising sponsorship and coming down to play on June 29th/30th. Learn more about our club atwww.knutsfordtennisclub.org.uk
